The resort consists of 2 parts: St. Moritz Dorf and St. Moritz Bad, located on the shores of the picturesque lake.
St. Moritz - one of the oldest resorts in the world (1864), the only place in Switzerland, where the Winter Olympics were held (in 1928 and 1948). Here the World Championships were held (1934, 1948, 1974, 2003)
Along with Gstaad - that is the most famous and aristocratic from all the ski resorts of Switzerland. The high cost deters from St. Moritz many, but attracts the opportunity to be in skiing “business class”.
Since the XIX century is probably the most aristocratic of all the mountain resorts - here have rest persons of royal dynasties, political, cultural and financial elite societies.
For mountain skiers region Engadin is above all 5 large and some small beautiful skiing areas with single subscription on lifts, and the most interesting of these zones are Corvatsch, Dyavoletstsa, Korvilya. Between zones you can free move around by bus or train. Right above St. Moritz rail funicular lift you up to 2,486 meters to Korvili. This is a “home” for a resort skating zone is good for intermediate skiers, but to the top of Piz Nair is not recommended to climb for beginners - that is black trail.
